It has truly been a wonderful experience being your Track Operators this year. We have appreciated your support from the very beginning. A great big THANK YOU goes out to all of our volunteers. It doesn't matter if you helped sweep or prep the track, picked up supplies, volunteered your time, or anything else...we couldn't have done it without your help. Another thing we are thankful for= the wonderful attitude of our racers. Those of us who are parents are noticing when you older riders help out the younger ones and encourage them. This is sooo important to building their confidence. Sorry about the last race being rained out. What a fitting end to a wet season! We have a list of names we owe saver stamps to. I was going to give them out at the final race, but, you know Mother Nature! I will give them out at our 1st race. Our 2010 race schedule is on the website. Please take some time to look it over. Get the double and triple point races on your calendars at home. You may notice, we have secured a Redline Cup Qualifying race. It will be June 6th. And THANKS TO YOU, we raised the most money in the Eastern U.S. and also won a TRIPLE POINTS RACE FOR LIFE. We will probably have another campout after the race that night. Last year was alot of fun! Please check the ABA Website for a list of all the new rules for 2010. I know many of you were wondering about the randon gate coming to amateur ABA.....Well, it is, but not until 2011. This will give all the 300+ tracks 1 year to purchase the new light system and candance for the gate. We have talked directly with Billy Allen on a COMPLETE REBUILD for 2010. We are definitely on his list for one. The one thing to keep in mind is the weather. We aren't sure exactly when he will be coming, but just remember to pray the rain away!!! There's no way to rebuild a track with mud. Just to give you a few statistics on the rain in Cleveland---2007 rainfall total=21.32 inches, 2008 rainfall total=32.61 inches, 2009 RAINFALL THRU DECEMBER 20=59.65 INCHES!!!! That should help explain why we raced 32 out of 51 races. Hopefully next season will be drier. Just in case you were wondering what all we may have added to the track this past year, take a look at the website for starters. Also, we distributed 17,000 fliers into all the schools in our area, started the Wall Of Fame, purchased a 4 wheeler that will belong solely to Bradley BMX, gave away free races and gift certificates each month to lucky riders, started a summer series of races, and started giving out "advancement certificates" to our girls who won their 8 races and our guys who moved up to Intermediate and Expert. We also had the campout after the RFL, and participated in the 2009 Christmas parade. Thanks to the parents, we passed out all 1500 fliers!!! Last but definitely not least, please remember to support our sponsors. They have chosen to give product or finances to our track. They believe in you. They believe in your children. They remember riding their bikes as kids and wish there was something like this available for them when they were young. |
